What Next?

When I passed SSC,
People asked me, "What next?"

When I passed HSC,
People asked, "What next?"

When I graduated,
People asked, "What next?"

When I got a job,
People asked, "What next?"

When I got married,
People asked, "What next?"

When I had children,
People asked, "What next?"

When they went to school,
People asked, "What next?"

When they got married,
People asked, "What next?"

When they had children,
People asked, "What next?"

I did not have an answer for this now
Because there was nothing left to know how
I could find an answer to the question-
"What next?" now

MY DEFINITION OF HAPPINESS

Once someone asked a man, “What is happiness?” He simply answered in one word, “Money.” And most of the people might even agree with him. I did not quite agree with him though.  To the peopIe who said that they did not agree with him, he would say just this: “Though money can’t buy happiness, we prefer crying in a BMW than in a cycle rickshaw.” I did not know what happiness was; but I was sure of one thing- Money wasn’t it!
I did not know what happiness was exactly, not until today. Few days ago, I was at my cousins’ place. They have a bungalow in Pune. Like others, they have appointed a maid to do their house hold chores. When they talked to her every day, they realized that the maid’s daughter and son were actually school going children. Instead of going to school, the son would sit at home and waste his time, while the daughter would help her mother in her work. When my aunt asked them about why they weren’t in school, the maid said that they couldn’t afford the education.
So my aunt came up with a really good idea. She decided to teach them for free. From what I understood, the children were hesitant to come to learn at first. But in a few days, they brought companions with them. Within no time, the number of students had increased from 2 to 7. They have fun learning. These children were really good at a subject that I loathed the most- MATHEMATICS. Unbelievably, these children have fun solving the problems in Maths; so much so that the teachers fall short of problems to give them.
When I was at their place, I had an opportunity to teach these children. They were having so much fun studying that I also found teaching them enjoyable. This, I felt, was real happiness for me. I felt happy in the true sense of the word. It gave me full satisfaction to do what I did today. I was really happy and satisfied that I was an active participant of making our country’s future bright.
The feeling was something that cannot be described in words but I have tried my level best to do so.
It is said that- Charity is something where you give something out of what is precious to you and time is the most precious thing anyone has.
I gave a part of my time to those children and let me tell you it was worth it!
